SYDNEY, This Day.
The cyclist Hubert Opperman arrived at the General Post Office, Sydney, at 11 p.m. yesterday, beating W. Read's record from Fremantle to Sydney, a distance of 3017 miles, by over five days. Opperman's time was 13 days 10 hours It minutes, and he beat Reads record by 5 days 8 hours 21 minutes. Police cars piloted the cyclist through | the city, which was crowded with welcoming thousands.
