ANGLO-GERMAN GUIDANCE

MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION

CO-OPERATION NEED

(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.)

LONDON, November 17.

It is announced that Baron yon Neurath, German Foreign Minister, will accompany Lord Halifax to visit Herr Hitler at Berchtesgaden' by the night train on November 18, states the Berlin correspondent of "The Times."

Newspapers for the first time make it clear what, in the German view, should be the contents of the AngloGerman conversations.

The "Volkischer Beobachter" says the big question is how the general principles; methods, and foreign policies of England and Germany can be harmonised so that the two cpuntries, which hold the fate of Europe in their hands, may co-operate rather than impede each other in the solution of the problems obstructing peaceful development in Europe. This raises the question of collectivity, to which Britain remains faithful, versus the system of agreements with individual States, which Germany has practised with success. There is also the question of England appreciating that Germany cannot afford, as Herr Hitler said at Nuremberg, to take the Bolshevist danger to the Continent as lightly .as England, which has a world Empire on which to fall back. Germany feels justified in demanding an understanding in England for her role as crusader for a "healthy Europe."

The "Algemeine Zeitung" says: "What Germany wants to know is the British Minister's view on the role of Germany in the new European balance pi power." Other commentators suggest that the Anglo=German naval agreement should have satisfied England that Germany has no intention of challenging Britain's position in the world.
