FIELD DAY
"The staffs of the three Wellington branches of Messrs. W. D. and H. O. Wills (N.Z.), Ltd., held a golf field day last weekend on the Manor Park links. about 20 members of the staffs tooK part in' the various competitions. • The chief competition was a teams match between head office, manufacturing department, and the sales branch for the Palmer Memorial Cup. The match. resulted in manufacturing department winning, with head office next, then the sales branch. . . The morning bogey round resulted in a win for R. Foster, with a £ard of 2 down, followed by D. G. Webster, 3 down, and M- W. E. Shore, 4 down.. A stabjfiford bogey competition m the afternoon was won by J. Cheev;rs, with F. Leckie and C. Halford having the next cards. At the close of the afternoon round the various trophies were presented, and R. B. Wheeley, representing the previous holders, presented the Palmer Memorial Cup to the manufacturing department team, which consisted of FA. L. Hunt, D. G. Webster, R. Fulton, and H; Orbell.
