NATIONAL PARTY
WELLINGTON EXECUTIVE
Delegates from constituencies in the Wellington Province met at the National Club rooms yesterday. Further progress was made in the organisation of the party.
The delegates reported that the public response to the party's efforts was much greater than a few months ago and the. enrolment of members was going on apace.
_ The Hon. A. Hamilton said that the old Liberal and Reform Parties were both progressive,-they both, moved forward, and both had a sense of responsibility. There were then differences of a minor nature. . Today, however, those minor differences did not matter when the major problem . in public life today was considered, The Government of today was actuated by a materialistic conception of life. That was" disturbing those'who believed in a spiritual conception of life, and was bringing to the leaders of the Churches much which was causing them grave concern, for. they saw behind the socialistic' doctrines of the Government
the spectre of Communism. v
. The meeting passed a vote of confidence in Mr, Hamilton and the determination was expressed to continue the campaign under his leadership.
