SYDNEY, November 18. On the opening day of the Newcastle and District Maitland Cup Meeting today, Lion Hunt (Hunting Song—Lion Skin) won the Branxton Novice Handicap of five furlongs, and Tasman was second in the Paterson Maiden Welter Handicap.
