LICENCES VARIED
To consider applications for new passenger and goods service and alterations to existing ones, the No. 2 Transport Licensing Authority, Mr. P. Skoglund, held a sitting yesterday. An amendment to the passenger-ser-vice licence held by the Minister of Railways for, Railway bus; sight-seem g Strips through*Akatarawa:was.made, redefining the route. The-amended route is: Upper Hutt, Akatarawa, Reikprangi, jWaikanae, Otaki. returning by Paekakariki. . ; An application from, the KelburnKarori, Motor Bus Company, Limited for a new passenger-service licence for contract "trips anywhere 'in the Nov 2 Licensing District was granted. It was ! stipulated that, not more than two vehicles were to run at .one time, and that charges be on-the. basis Of Is,' a .mile; Mr.4A. T. Little, secretary, ap[peared for the company., i Three applications for new goods-ser-vice licences were>.granted. L; W. jHowell,' Upper Hutt, was granted, a ioriervehicle authority for Public Works [Department ;work in the Hutt, Featherstori, Wairarapa South, Mastertpn, Hauriceville; Eketahuna,„■ and' Pahiatua Couhtiies. , A applicaition for two authorities, from A. Bower, Trentharh, was also granted. A seasonal application by L. W. Howell was withdrawn. An application from P. Jenkins, Waikanae, 'for a one-vehicle authority for public works carting in the Horowhenua and Hutt Counties was also granted. A passenger-service application from P. Jenkins for a Wai-kanae-Otaki route was withdrawn.
The goods-service licence held formerly by V. A. Draper was transferred to V. A. Draper and Company, Ltd., Lower Hutt. '. ■
