CLAIM FOR LAND TAKEN
(By Telegraph—Prese Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, November 15. The compulsory acquisition under the Public Works Act of land for the extension \of the New Plymouth airport was the subject of proceedings in the Supreme Court today, * when the previous owner, Mrs. R. L.. Barclay, Waitara, claimed from the New Plymouth Borough Council £12,018 as compensation for all loss arising out of the land being taken and its severance, from' a farm. The claim comprised £8314 as the value, at £75 an acre, of 109 acres taken, with buildings, and improvements, and £3703, as the value of the remaining 183 acres injuriously affected by the severance. , The 'evidence will be continued tomorrow.. ■ •
