St Mary's Homes, , Many people look forward to the sale of work at St. Mary's Homes, Xarori, for the sake of the beautiful needlework, both ' plain and ( fancy, which can be obtained there, and it is an opportunity to get dainty Christinas gifts at well as renewal of houae linen. Itig a great thing to get these "home made," and It is hoped, that all old V friends as Well «s new ones will go out ■ to the home on Wednesday next'and help to make the sale * success. .There will be cakes, flowers, and produce as well, and afternoon tea will be served. Gift Tea.
A gift tea in aid of the Leper Sisters' Best Honle will be held.at the, Missionary Convent, Aurora Terrace, on Saturday nextfrow Wfctt> 5 p,m« .DuFlou's brchestra wil^be fif and will- play-popular music throughout the afternoon. A musical programme is also being arranged. A well-stocked novelty stall with little Christmas presents will be a feature, and afternoottj tea will be served by ladies from Net* town and Brooklyn. The gardens a* looking very lovely, "just now with their rockeries and native bush, and visitors will find this function a very pleasant means of helping on the wonderful work el the good sisters. A number of car owners have placed their cart at'the disposal of the committee to transport visitors up the hill. Artistic Evening. As well as delightful violin music last evening, Miss Williamina FosterBarham provided an artistic setting at Nimmo'a Hall, where she held her recitaL The stage was beautifully decorated by Miss Betty Sharp, who had taken full advantage of the summer flowers which are so plentiful just now, making a suitable grouping for Miss Foster-Barham, who was in a Charming frock of pale green charmeuse trimmed with silver lace, and wore earrings and other ornaments of fade.' Miss Elsie Phillips, who accompanied .her, was. in white, satin with crystal ornaments.. Miss Foster-Barham had a number of bouquets of flowers
presented to her at the close of her recital. Among the musical people present were Miss Ava Symons (in blue and silver), Mrs. McKay, Mrs.1 Ginn; and many others.
