BOOKMAKINC BUSINESS

Described as a silver .bettor, Arthur McKenzie, married, aged" 47, appeared before the Magistrate, Mr. Morgan, this morning and pleaded guilty to carrying on the business of a bookmaker at Timaru. He was fined £15 and given a fortnight in which to pay. The police said It was his first offence. It was understood that McKenzie, who was in a small way. w;\s acting p-i agent for a man Operating on a l?.ii;:: scale.
