FOR CANVAS SHOES

When laced canvas shoes are worn for games, gymnastics, or bathing, it is a good plan to take out the laces and replace them with elastic of a suitable width. The elastic should be drawn tight enough to hold the shoes on firmly, and the ends should be stitched one over the other in a neat, flat join, underneath the eyelet holes. This elastic fastening cannot come undone, but it giyes sufficiently to allow the shoes to be slipped off quickly and easily.
