YARDLEY'S PATENTED PLOUGH.

A Palmerston North Invention,

I Mr. T. Yardley, a Palmerston North resident of many years' standing, and who has had a lifetime's experience in implement manufacturing, had recognised for a long time that the 'ordinary plough was deficient in many j ways, and not altogether suited to the conditions and requirements of the ! average agricultural farmer. After a great deal of thought, and much experimenting over a lengthy period, he has devised a plough that must be of immense benefit to the farming community generally. In short, Yardley's patent plough can stand any amount of investigation. Its trials have proved it to be far in. advance of the old-time implement—just as much, or more so, than the cars of today and those of ten years ago. The plough is shorter in the frame than those formerly used, although the coulter is exactly the same distance from the front of the implement. It is practically built on a free-wheel system. The two wheels in front can turn at any angle, and when the plough strikes a root or hard substance in the ground it cannot possibly rear up—a bad. fault with an ord'nary one—and it is so constructed it-cannot fall on its side. It is at every angle on an even keel. Turning at the end of a furrow is as easy as falling off a log, as the saying goes. A.child.or woman can operate it, it is so simple, and judging by the way this modernised farm implement is appealing to the farmer Mr. Yardley's factory will be busy for a long time to come. No sooner is one under way than out it goes, and the most important fact is that each one seen in use brings other clients along. Yardley's plough is a revelation in ingenuity, and certainly a great success. In order that visitors to the Royal Show may be able to inspect it, one already on. the stocks and sold is being held back for inspection by all interested. The address is No. 210 Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North. Telephone 7328, . j
