TAITA RATEPAYERS

The annual meeting of the Taita Ratepayers' and Progressive Association was held in the Taita Public Hall on Monday. The following officers were elected:—Chairman, Mr. Hutchison; secretary and treasurer, 'Mr.. Greig: committee, Messrs. Ferriti, Curtis, Ball J. Searle, Bilby, Read, Thomson, Cameron, and Tustin (2). A resume of the past year's work was given by the retiring secretary (Mr. Curtis) and the very satisfactory results of representations to the Borough Engineer and railway bus manager were commented on. In view of the progress and anticipated further development of th* district, the hope was expressed that the association would expand until every resident had joined. The secretary was instructed to write to all past members and cordially invite them to rejoin.
