The "Daily Herald," quoting a provision merchant's report, states that it has been impossible to stem the demand for butter or to find supplies to meet that demand. The journal discusses the possibility of a further rise of 25s per cwt, making prime New Zealand butter to sell retail at 2s per lb at about Christmas time.
