STOCK AGENTS UNION

The first annual meeting of the Wellington Stock, and Station Agents* Clerical Employees' Trade Union wat held in the Dominion Farmers' Institute last week;.

Representatives attended from Mas. terton, Feilding, Palmerston North, Napier, Wangahui, and Wellington,

The accounts showed a healthy position, and the accumulated, fund" stood at £406.

It was resolved as a recommendation to the industrial union that the secretary should visit the ..outside towns and hold meetings to ascertain whether they wished to have branch .unions, or to carry oh, as at present, through district liaison officers. The president explained that the industrial union would, in future, exercise all the functions of an employees* union. The trade union's function should, in the opinion of the executive committee, be on the social and entertainment side, for which purpose money grants could be made from the industrial union where necessary.

Last year's committee had decided not to accept nomination, and the .following executive officers for the ensuing year were elected;-rPresidenti. Mr. C. H. Acheson; vice-president, Mr. W. M.
