WELLINGTON SPRING MEETING

SPLENDID FIELDS FOR TOMORROW'S OPENING (By "Rangatira."; Trentham, the buffer ground for form from every part of the Dominion, will be the scene of further sorties tomorrow, when the Wellington Racing Club's Spring Meeting will be opened under the most favourable conditions. It is a long time since there have been such splendid acceptances for an October fixture, and this year s meeting, extending over three days, promises to be among the most successful ever experienced by the club. The old 'Labour Dav hoodoo with the weather was well and thoroughly laid last year, and unless a change should come about unexpectedly, go racing and "spring" in the upper valley will be harmonious terms. Tomorrow's racing will have a very high value, not only as a guidance for the larger attendances that may be anticipated for Saturday and Monday, but also in distinguishing the best juvenile of the early season and in sorting out likely horses for the New Zealand-Cup and Stewards' Handicap next month. Better quality could hardly be "desired than graces the Trentham card.
