GRAFT IN TRADING
EASTERN PUNITIVE MEASURE (Received October 20, 9.30 a.m.) SINGAPORE, October 19. Bribery and secret commissions which have been part and parcel of Eastern trading for thousands of years will disappear if a Bill to be introduced in the Legislative Council of the colony is passed. Tiie Bill, which is "in the interests of commercial and public morality," provides for a maximum punishment ; of seven years and a fine of 500 dollars.
