ANTI-FASCIST PROTEST

ILL-FEELING IN WASHINGTON

CLASH WITH POLICE (Unlled Press Association— B.v Electric Telegraph—Copyright-) (Received October 12, 9.40 a.m.) WASHINGTON; October 11. A large crowd of office employees, on the way to work, watched a clash between anti-Fascist demonstrators and police outside the Italian Embassy, where Signor Vittorio Mussolini, son of the Italian Prime Minister, spent the weekend. The police dispersed the demonstrators and seized placards reading: "President Roosevelt, don't shake hands with the son of an aggressor," and also "Wanted for collective murder—Vittorio Mussolini." The sympathy of the onlookers was divided, and shouts of "Viva Mussolini" mingled with shouts of "Down with Mussolini." The protest was due to reports that President, Roosevelt was Signor Vittorio Mussolini. Signor Vittorio Mussolini landed in the United States on September 23 with the film producer Hal Roach to study Hollywood methods, in order to assist the activities of an Italian film company in which he and Mr. Roach are partners.
