Notice of Special Order, , "VTOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at *■* a Special Meeting of the Wellington City Council held on Wednesday, the 15th September, 1037, the following resolution was passed:—Whereas by a poll of the ratepayers taken on tho eighth day of May, 1935, the Wellington City Council was authorised and empowered to raise under the provisions of the LocM Bodies Loans Act, 1926, and its Amendments, the sum of One hundred thousand pounds (£100,000) for the provision of etormwater relief culverts, stormwater drainage, and for the acquisition of land, earthworks, widening, construction, and other works in respect of certain streets in the City of Wellington AND WHEREAS the said Council has raised the sum of One hundred thousand pounds (£100,000) by way of Special Loan known as "The Wellington City Council Works Loan, 1933" AND WHEREAS the sum of Thirty-seven thousand pounds (£37,000) being a defined portion of the total amount of the said Loan of One hundred thousand pounds (£100,000) waa allocated by. the said Council for the specific public work of the acquisition of land, earthworks, widening, construction, and other works in respect of certain streets in the City of Wellington AND WHEREAS the amount of Thirty-seven thousand pounds | (£37,000) so raised is found to be insufficient to complete the undertaking in respect of which it was raised and it is necessary to raise a further sum of Three thousand seven hundred pounds (£3700) for the purpose of completing the said undertaking NOW THEREFORE the Wellington City Council in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1920, and its Amendments, the Finance Act, 1927, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and of all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf and in pursuance of the consent of the Governor-General in Council given by Order in Council made pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, dated the eighth day of September, 1937, and gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette of the Ninth day of September, 1937. Number 63 at page 2143 doth Hereby resolve by way of Special Order: —(1) That a further sum of Three thousand seven hundred pounds (£3700) be borrowed for tho purpose of completing' the said undertaking. (2) That a Special Loan of Three thousand seven hundred pounds (£3700) to be known as "The Wellington City Council Works Supplementary Loan, 1937, be raised by the Wellington _ City Council for the purpose of completing the works provided for by tho Wellington City Council Works Loan, 1935, of £37,000. (3) That the rate of interest payable in respect of the said Special Loan, or any part thereof, shall not exceed Three pounds ten shillings (£3 10s) per centum per annum payable half-yearly, during the currency of the said Special Loan being a period of Ten (10) years from the First day of December, 1937. (4) That a Sinking Fund of Eight pounds ten shillings (£8 10s) per centum per annum be established in connection with the said Special Loan. (5) That the security for the interest, Sinking Fund, and other charges and repayment of the said Special Loan be a special rate of Sis nine-hundredths of a penny (0-9OOd) in the pouad made and levied oil the rateable value (on the basis .of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Wellington. (0) That no amount payable as either interest or Sinking Fund in respect of the said Special Loan be paid out of such Loan moneys. (7) That the rata payable for brokerage, underwriting, I and procuration fees in regpeet of the raisin# of the said Special Loan, or any part thereof, shall not in the aggregate exceed One-half per centum CA per cent.) of any amount raised. (8) That payment of interest and repayment of principal in respect of the said Loan shall be made in New Zealand.
