BRITISH SAILORS' SOCIETY

A most enjoyable entertainment was given at "the rooms of the British Sailors' Society recently when a programme of elocutionary, dancing, songs, and instrumental items was presented by the pupils of Mr. Claude Sander to a large audience of seamen and friends. Each item was greeted with applause, the performers having to respond many times with encores* Items were contributed by Misses Shirley Gordon, Marion Wallace, Mary Jobson, Jean White, Valerie and Shirley Flaws, Gloria Hassett, Sheila White, Shona Singe, Joyce Lena, Jean Prangley, Jean O'Connor. Margaret Hearn, and Kathleen Sander, Messrs. C. Jupp. Bill Stewart, Bert Mulling, and R. Bouverie. At the conclusion a vote of thanks was proposed and carried with acclamation, supper was served, and the evening brought to a close with the National Apthem, ,
