CONTRACT BRIDGE

The seventeenth round of the Wellington Bridge Club's individual lad der competition resulted in a win for Dr. Findlay and Mr. Fawcett (N-&) and for Dr. and Mrs. Hutchison (East West). Mr. H. H. Young went to the top of the ladder, the percentages oi the leading players being as follows:— Mr. H. Young, 55.72 per cent.; Mrs Young, 55.45; Mr. H. Burns, 54.96; Dr Hutchison, 54.62; Mrs. Hutchison, 54.22; Mr. L. Stohr, 54.21; Mrs. Gill. 54.12; Mr. C. Wilson, 53.92. The recreation evening was won. bj Mr. Ashley Duncan and Mrs. H Young (N-S) .and by Mrs. Hutchison and Miss C. Bunny (East-West). In the two-life tournament Mr, Stohr's team suffered its first defeal at the hands of Dr. Hutchison's team There are three teams left in this tournament, each with one life. They are Mr. Stohr, Mrs. Jackson, Mrs Johnston, Mrs. Houston, Mr. and Mrs Ashley Duncan, Mr. and Mrs. Wilkinson, Mr. and Mrs. Young.
