BOYS' INSTITUTE

The ladies' auxiliary of the Boys' Institute held its monthly, meeting in the Institute Building, Tasman Street, on Monday afternoon. The meeting, which was presided over by the president, Mrs, L. T. Watkins, was well attended. The matron's report was submitted, reports from members of the visiting committees were received, and household accounts were examined and passed for payment. The necessity of making replacements in much of the furnishings in the boarding establishment was stressed by the visiting committees, and the president stated that the proceeds of the street day, to be held on October 20, would be used for that purpose. Both the Wellington Boy Scouts' Association and the institute were working hard to make the day a success, and members were reminded of the combined meeting of both associations, which is to be held tonight at 7.30, to discuss progress made.
