FATAL INJURIES

AUCKLAND, October 10.

Walking into the side of an out-ward-bound tramcar while crossing the road near the intersection of Victoria Street West and Hardinge Street, about 8 o'clock on Saturday night, Mrs. Ellen Wallis, widow, aged 71, received severe injuries from which she died on the way to hospital. After walking into the tram Mrs. Wallis was hurled heavily backwards on to the roadway, striking her head as she fell. Her injuries included a fracture of the skull and other severe head injuries, in addition to a fractured leg.
