The Canterbury Cricket Association's senior competitions began today in fine weather. Matches this season are confined to one day. Results: West Christchurch. 242 Otarpetf 44, Gregory 32, Fairbairn three for 40), drew with Riccarton, 132 for eight (Cade 32, Strachan 25 not out,-Williams four for 35). Lancaster Park, 233 for nine (Shand 101 not out, Dryden 37), beat last year's champion. Old Boys, ' 212 (Brookes 83). ".■-■■■.. . .-:,:,. St. Albans, 104, and 156 for two, declared (Batstone 39, McCann 100, Davis four for 20), beat East Christchurch, 93 ; (Mullan 28, Mulcock eight: for 46), on the first innings, Sydenham, 193 (Gasson 60, Smith 35, Alpers three for 32, Denham three for 33), beat Old Collegians, 146 (Byrne 44, Jennings 29, BUrtt five for '34).
