AWARD TO AN INFANT

£2200 DAMAGES

NOSE AND FINGERS BITTEN

OFF BY PARROT

SYDNEY, October 8. , The jury in the Supreme Court today awarded £2200 damages to an infant, Kathleen Noonan, of Bathurst, whose nose and three fingers were bitten off by a parrot belonging to Nurse Taljula Mahoney while the child was an inmate of her hospital last year. The child's parents sued for £5000. Medical evidence recommended that plastic surgery be applied when the child had finished growing, but not before that time.
