UNIVERSITY SWIMMING CLUB

, The annual general meeting of the University Swimming Club was held yesterday, a' large and enthusiastic body of members being present. ' The annual report referred to the keenness displayed by the members during the past season despite the adverse weather conditions, and. to the high standard attained by several of the younger swimmers. The weekly club nights are being commenced on Wednesday, December 1, at the Thorndon Baths, when it is hoped that a Training College team will be present to compete with the club in swimming, diving, and water-polo. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. A. F. Naylor; president, Dr. N. A. Foden; vice-presidents, Messrs. F. Wilton, P. Coira, W. Gerrie, F.' Empson, R. Delderich, C. Watson, R. C. Bradshaw, Professor B. E. Murphy, and Dr. i. L. G. Sutherland; club captain, Mr. T. Ennis; deputy club captain, Mr; E. L. Tate; women's club captain, Miss M. Morton; hon. secretary treasurer, Mr. R.
