VERSE-SPEAKING CHOIR.
The poems to be spoken by the Wellington Verse-Speaking Choir at its recital on Saturday next should appeal not only to> poetry lovers, but also to the man in the street. The programme includes the famous "Croaking Chorus,". from the "Frogs" of Aristophanes, which nearly everyone has heard of but which few have actually heard, poems by Masefield, Browning, De la Mare, Drinkwater, Vafchell Lindsay; Eileen Duggan and other modern poets, lyrical passages from the Bible, and a translation from the ancient Chinese. The programme will be varied by vocal solos and dances, including a particularly beautiful ballet created by Miss Jean Home. The choir is under
