ITALIAN TERRORIST
PLOT TO, BLOW UP TUNNEL

PARIS, September 23.
An Italian terrorist named Gardella was sentenced, to three years' imprisonment for attempting to blow up the frontier tunnel at Cap Cerbere, and two missing accomplices were each sentenced to five years' gaol.
Gardella said that an agent of the Spanish rebel leader, General Franco, employed him to do the job and supplied him with an Italian passport. He believed Italy was involved in the plot.
