IMPROVING FLOCKS

BIG SHIPMENT OF RAMS

{By Telegraph.) (Special to the "Evenuiß Post.")

DUNEDIN. This Day.

For some years past rams have been imported from Australia for the purpose of improving sheep in Otago and today the largest shipment to arrive was brought by the Waitaki. There are one hundred and eleven special Merino flock rams in the shipment. They came from South Australia to the order of'Dalgety and Company. The rams are destined for various sheepowners throughout Central and North Otago. They are big-boned and wellwoolled, and it is hoped that the infusion of Australian blood in the flocks will improve the size and wool-carrying capacities of local flocks.
