RESNICK CUP

WELLINGTON CLUB EVENT

The Wellington Harrier Club's annual contest for the Resnick Cup was held at Seatoun on Saturday afternoon, when members and supporters were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rowberry for the final club event of the season. The race resulted as follows: R. Newson (smin), 24min 18sec, 1; E. Willetts (3min 30sec), 23min 7sec, 2. Fastest limes: W. Owen, 21min 18sec; C. Chalk, 22min 34sec; G. Rowberry, 22min 59sec. After the race members were entertained at afternoon tea and Mr. A. R. Thomas thanked Mr. and Mrs. Rowberry for their hospitality.

SCOTTISH CLUB.

The Scottish Club held its threemiles consolation race from St. Paul's Church, Woburn. Clement winning by 20 yards from Violich.

OLYMPIC CLUB.

Olympic held their annual Philp Shield teams race over a course of three miles and a half at Miramar. Sixteen members competed in four teams. The team comprising A. Shaw, D. McFadyn, H. Patrick, and A. Rich•ardson won the shield by a fairly substantial margin. Fastest time was recorded by E. Lovatt, who ran well to complete the course in 20min ssec. O. Fisher took 20min 29sec, and A. McNaught 20min 48sec.

C.V.M. CLUB.

The C.V.M. Club held its final run of the season, the consolation race, of approximately three miles, from the residence of Mr. G. Scott, Puriri Street. J. Naismith, on 3min, was first home, followed by K. Everard and H. Tombs. Later, afternoon tea was served and Mr. J. Werry thanked the host and hostess for their hospitality and their good work for the club.

UNIVERSITY CLUB,

A large muster of Victoria University College harriers concluded the season with a short run from Kelburn and finished with an enjoyable afternoon tea at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Dixon, Kelburn. The club captain referred to the season as the most successful that the club had yet experienced, the major accomplishment being the winning of the interuniversity cross-country championship for the Dixon Trophy. He .also expressed the gratitude of the club to the president and the other officers of the club for the keen and unfailing interest which they had displayed throughout in the club's activities. A presentation was made to the trainer, Mr. G: C. Sherwood, for his invaluable assistance throughout the season. . . ■ . Trophies were presented by the president, Mr. , G. F.- Dixon, as follows:—Novice race, T. Price; Sherwood Cup, R. L. Hutchens; five-mile championship, D. R. Scrymgeour; eightmile handicap (Endeavour Cup), S. K. Newall; club championship, D. R. Scrymgeour. . Mr. and Mrs. Dixon were fittingly thanked for their hospitality.
