OBITUARY
MRS. JOHN MYERS
A great many friends will learn with sincere regret of the death of Mrs. John Myers, of Wellington Terrace, which occurred at her home yesterday. Mrs. Myers was born in Wellington 71 years ago, her parents being Mr. and Mrs. David Levi. She was married in 1892 to Mr. John Myers, of Wellington, who belongs to a well-known pioneer family.
Mrs. Myers was a good friend, and, as expressed by one who knew her very well, "one who could always be relied upon," being hospitable and kindly always. In earlier days she took part in the establishment of the Free Kindergartens and of the Citizens' Day Nursery, as well as being a foundation member of the Pioneer Club and a vice-president and good worker for many years. Just 'recently she was made a life member of this club as an appreciation of all she had done to advance its interests.
The Zionist work, specially that in connection with the establishment of Plunket Society's methods, appealed very much to Mrs. Myers, and she gave help and thought to the extension of all that was done for the benefit of children in Palestine. She also helped to establish the Jewish Women's Club in Wellington. Her interests were wide altogether, and she will be much missed by many circles. About a fortnight ago she was well enough to entertain the garden circle of the Pioneer Club at her home most pleasantly, though for the past year her health had not been very good.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Myers leaves the following relatives, with whom much sympathy will be felt: Her sons, Dr. Leslie Myers (Wellington), Mr. Elliott Myers (Melbourne); her daughters, Mrs. V. G. Jervis (Wellington) and Mrs. O. W. S. Kohn (Wellington). Mrs. Myers also lea%'es a brother. Mr. Phin. Lovi. and a sister. Miss Etta Levi, both of Wellington.
Open all cupboards on a fine day. This gives them a chance to air and helps to keep the moths away.
