CANNED PIG PRODUCTS
An Australian subsidiary of a Belgian company intends to establish in Brisbane works for a special curing process for pig products. The factory will supply a central factory m Sydney, which will can the products, esoecially boneles» ham. Production in Ihis form has not previously been undertaken in Australia. Mr. Julius Weisz, Australian representative of Poels and Co. (Aust.). Ltd., is reported to have said that by the establishment of his firm's operations in Queensland for the Australian market and for export to Britain and many other parts of the world, the pig industry would receive a big fillip. There would be a large demand for the type of pig that grew particularly well in Queensland. The firm had packing factories in Canada and European countries, but looked to Australia to supplement its world trade.
