KEEN INTEREST
CATHOLIC CENTENARY

AUCKLAND, This Day.
The considerable interest being taken in Australia in the forthcoming New Zealand Catholic centenary was remarked upon by Bishop Liston, Auckland, on his return by the Mariposa today after an absence of four weeks. He attended the Plenary Council of the Australian and New Zealand prelates. He said that most of the archbishops and bishops of Australia had promised to attend the centenary. Others were coming from the Islands, and two well-known ecclesiastics from the United States, Bishop Murray, of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Bishop Kelley, the distinguished author, of Oklahoma, are expected. Altogether about 25 prelates will attend. The Plenary Council which Bishop Liston attended in Australia was the first held in 32 years, bishops of the two couniries. meeting in St. Mary's Cathedral, Sydney, to discuss affairs of the Church.
