PARLIAMENTARY BROADCAST
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—ln the "Evening P6st"-of September 16 you publish a letter under the above heading which amused me so much that I would feel favoured if you would give publication to this comment on it. To begin, I would like to draw the attention of "A Country Father" to page 14, column 5 of the paper in which his letter is published. This column is headed "Broadcasting." He will see from this that, if the speeches given by our members are not up to his ideal, he can have quite a variety of musical and variety entertainment from stations other than 2YA.
Regarding his reference to Brutus and Mark Antony, I would feel favoured if you would give "A Country Father" the opportunity of noting the following extracts from "Julius Caesar": Brutus (when the citizens wish to leave after his speech): Good countrymen, let me depart alone, And for my sake stay hero with Antony: Do grace to Caesar's corpse, and grace his speech TcndlnE to Caesar's glories; which Mark Antony. By our permission, is allowed to make. I dp entreat you, not a man depart, Savo I alone, till Antony havo apoko. I And after the death of Brutus, An-J tony says: ] This was the uohlnst Eoman of them all: All the conspirators, save only he. Did that they did In envy of great Caesar; He only in a general honest thought i And common good to all, made one of them. His life was gentle, and the elements | So mixed in him that Nature might stand up | . And say to all the world, "This was a man." I am, etc., A LISTENER.
