TROTTING CUP SECTIONS
The altered conditions for the New Zealand Trotting Cup, making the sectional requirements on a firm track lmin Bsec for the first half-mile and 2min 46sec for the first mile and a quarter will prove satisfactory to trainers and drivers. The original requirements of limn 6sec and 2min 45sec seemed a bit drastic, particularly the first section from a standing start, and might have resulted in a wild rush that would have benefited nobody.
