CHINTZ BLINDS
Chintz blinds in .rather strong, gaily-coloured designs make an excellent.window treatment for the country home, states a London expert. When the window is draped with cream or tinted muslin or net, tied back /with large bows accenting the colour-theme of the room, the effect is charming and artistic. .
Hand-blocked chintzes in lovely : colours and designs are suited for this purpose. The window-blind chintz may be in some dark rich tone or may have a sunny background for the flower pattern. Venetian window blinds painted wTiite and slung on white, slightly tufted braiding are another Victorian innovation that suit modern country rooms, especially when hung with white corded or handtufted cotton curtainings.
Fabrics, pottery, china, and linens are all most attractive in their colourful designs thi3 summer. Flowerrooms can be designed from a wallpicture theme of an artist's study of blue delphiniums or deep golden marigolds. Any favourite floral scheme can be carried out in colour harmonies from the window chintzes to napery and house linens.
Cloth buttons studded in a trellis design, like the back of a Victorian chair, trim the sleeves of a black coat worn • over a white frock. The yoke of the frock Us treated in the same manner.
