PIGS, POULTRY, AND PRODUCE.

The Dominion Auctioneering Company, Palmerston North, reports; aa extra heavy yarding of all-; grades of pigs at their weekly pig fair. held on Thursday. In all, over-400 pigs were yarded and the prices realised showed an increase on the prices during the -oast few weeks. There was an exceptional demand for all classes particularly the larger pigs, light .baconers, porkers, stores, etc., with'-a corresponding increase in the price of .weaners. There was also a good- demand for poultry, of which there was a good entry with the market firm on last week's rates. There was a decrease in the price of vegetables due to the large quantity coming forward. There was still a very firm demand for fruit. Quotations:— ,„!., Pigs.—Small weaners, 15s to :18s oa; best weaners, 22s 6d to 25s 6d; slips, 22s to 29s 6d; stores, 30s to 355; light porkers, 40s to 51s; medium baconers, to £3 10s; sows to farrow, 60s to £5 ss; sows and litters, £6 10s to £8 10s. Poultry.—Heavy cockerels, fro'ni 83 to 9s per pair; light cockerels,, ffbm 6s to 7s 6d; fat roosters, from 7s- 6d to 8s; light roosters, from 5s lOtt to 7s 6d; yearling hens, from 7s lOdto 8s 2d; light hens, from 6s to 7s 6d; young , cockerels, 6d each; ducks, 6s ,6d to 8a per pair; pullets., to 10s 6d per pair.
