COMING EXAMINATIONS

The Director of Education (Mr. N. T. Lambourne) said today that in view of the interruption of studies of a large number of pupils and students throughout the Dominion owing to the infantile paralysis epidemic, the Education Department was gathering information with the object of ensuring that-as-far as possible candidates for its ■ examinations would hot suffer hardship as a result of the closing of the schools.

He said also that the executive committee of the Senate of the New Zealand University had directed the' Vice to make such arrangements with the examiners and the results committee as would prevent as far as may be possible injustice to the candidates presenting themselves this year. The executive had decided that the entrance examinations this year will not commence until Monday, December 6.
