The weather is fine and still, with a dry, hard turf at the Carisbrook ground for the Rugby match between Otago and the Springboks.

In the South African team Williams, who has an injured knee, is replaced on the wing by Lyster. The centre-three-quarters are Babrow and Hofmeyr, and the halves Craven and van der Vyver, Lochner being dropped.
