Mrs. Riddiford, Lower Hutt, is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. R. Dudley Kettle, Wharerangi, Hawke's Bay.

Mrs. M. J. Forde, Dominion Secretary .of; .the. New Zealand National Council- of Women, leaves this afternoon for a holiday, which will be spent in North Auckland, Tauranga, and Rotorua. The biennial conference of the N.C.W. will be held at Auckland, commencing on September 29.

Miss Mary M. M. Boyd,, who has just left New Zealand for London University on a travelling scholarship, was the holder of a senior university scholarship and a Jacob Joseph scholarship. Miss Boyd received her secondary school training at the Hutt, Valley High School, the Board of Governors of which last evening congratulated her ori'her attainment.

Mr. and Mrs. L. -Avison, Wellington, are visiting Timaru.

Miss Mollie Nathan, Palmerston North, is visiting Wellington for the dog show at Lower Hutt.
