Winds. —Northerly to north-westerly, moderate to strong generally and rising at times to cale force in parts of the Cook and Foveaux Strait areas. Barometer.—Falling.
Seas. —Hough in the Cook and Foveaux Strait areas: rather rough south of Farewell Spit; elsewhere slight to moderate.
■ Weather. —Cloudy to overcast in western and far southern districts; rain in Westland and the far south and gradually extending to most districts with a westerly aspect. Mainly fair to fine in eastern districts. Temperatures mild.
