WESTERN FEDERATED CLUB

NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day.

Two additional aircraft are to be acquired by the Western Federated (NJ.) Flying Club. A trainer aeroplane is being accepted on loan from the Government and a machine of a similar type is to be purchased by the club under the State system of extended payment It- is not known what type of trainer machine the Government will supply, but it is thought i. may be a Tiger Moth biplane, with a.Gipsy Major engine. This machine is in full acrobatic category, and is recognised for high efficiency. This will give the federation control, of six machines. A Miles Hawk monoplane was* purchased by. the federation in England about three months ago, and about the same time a Moth was acquired from the Southland Aero Club. The club still has two of its original Moths. , , The federation has experienced mis- ] fortune with its machines during the last twelve months. One Moth wias ■ lost as a result of a crash in the Kaimanawa Ranges and another was lost in Cook Strait when returning from the West Coast air pageant. ...
