Pot Luck is now eligible for the New : Zealand Trotting Cup. For Ws win in !the Burwood Handicap at New Bngh'ton on Saturday he has been penalised ! 24yds—the same reassessment as qualified Lucky Jack when he also won off a 4mirt 28sec mark at Addington in August. There are now twenty-five :h6rses available for the big event at Addington in November. ■ In nine starts since May 1, Pot Luck jhas been only twice out of a place. 'Prior to that his form was erratic, but •age has had a beneficial effect on him ' during the past six months, and he is ,'now a reliable pacer. '■•• He began his good run of successes :sit Oamaru in May by finishing second ■to Rocks Ahead in the President's HanI dicap, and later in the day he won the 'Enfield .Handicap. A week later he iwon the. two principal events at Forjbury,. but failed in the. King George •■ Handicap at Ashburton in June. He competed in the three biggest (races at the New Zealand Metropolitan ! Trotting Club's August Meeting for a i second and a third. His next outing ;-was at New Brighton on Saturday, ; where he was first-home in the Bur- ■ wood Handicap. During the past four months Pot ;Luck has registered four firsts, two seconds, and one third, and has earned £1470 in stakes. Two years ago he was purchased by Mr. H. Stafford from J. ID.
