MANUFACTURERS CONFER
A deputation of manufacturers representing the soft goods industries of New Zealand, Is. to wait on the Minister of Industries, and Commerce (the Hon.'D. G. Sullivan) this afternoon to discuss competition caused by the importation of soft goods. The manufacturers have been advised by the Minister, that Cabinet has set up a Committee to consider the question of competitive importations, and data has already been collected by his Department and the Customs Department, The Minister, the Hon. W. Nash, the Hon. F. Langstone, and the Hon. H. G. R. Mason are to consider the information collected and make recommendations to. Cabinet jon. What steps are considered necessary for the protection of New Zealand industries
