INTERESTING DONATION

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. An interesting announcement was made by Mr. G. Gould at yesterday's meeting ofrthe committee of the Canterbury Jockey Club. Mr. Gould said that a'prominent racehorse owner, who wished to remain anonymous, had donated to St. George's' Hospital a sum of money to provide additional comforts for jockeys or stable hands' who might be injured on the Riccartoii tracks, either in races or in training work. This friendly gesture towards the, working section of the racing community will earn wide commendation from all patrons of the sport.
