MAUNGANUI'S CRUISE

The Maunganui, on her islands cruise, arrived off Niiiaf oou early on Sunday morning, according to advice received by the Union Company, and 15,124 letters were landed safely by tin-can mail. The ship arrived at Levuka at 7.30 a.m. on Tuesday, and, in beautiful weather, the natives gave colourful mekes at Nasau Park. The spear and fan dancing were much appreciated and later motor trips were made to the Roman Catholic mission at Cawaci. When the Maunganui left for Kadavu Island at 5 p.m. on Tuesday there were hundreds Of natives on the wharf, and they made an exciting scene.
