LARGELY-ATTENDED

FUNERAL

The funeral of the late Dr. W. J. H. Hislop took place this afternoon, and was largely attended by members of the medical profession and prominent citizens. A service was conducted at the residence by the Rev. J. R. Blanchard, who also ' officiated at Karori. The pall-bearers were Captain A. V. Hale Monro, Messrs. S. Harcourt, G. Pearce, R. Dymock, Sir Donald McGavin, and the Mayor (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop), a brother of the late Dr. Hislop. Among those present were the Town Clerk (Mr. E. P. Norman) and members of the Wellington City Council, Dr. M. H. Watt (DirectorGeneral of Health), who also represented the Minister of Health; Drs. H. Hardwicke-Smith, C. G. F. Morice, Hughes Steele, T. N. Usher, Sir James Eliott, Messrs. N. W. Nelson, G. Fache, and Dr. G. Craig.
