CADET COMPETITIONS

Tho Wellington intor-dlstrict cadet competitions of tho St. John Ambulance. were held at the Weilesley College grounds on Saturday. The principal competitions were the following:—New Zealand Ambulance cadet championship, for tho Sir Alfred Robin Memorial Shield and Gllberd Cup to the champion team leader; the Wellington Ambulance cadet championship shield, and Wigston Cup to the best Wellington team leader; tho Wellington Ambulance Cadet Junior Championship Shield; tho Wellington Nursing Cadet Championship Shield; and tho Wellington Nursing Cadet Junior Championship Cup. . .

Tlie following districts were represented, making a total of forty-eight teams: Wellington Central, V.M.C.A., Wellesley College, Wellington East, Karoii, retone,; Wangamii, Chrfxtcliurch, and Jlastenon. Proceedings began at 10.15 a.m. and the official opening of tho championship, in the form of a teams inspection parade, was held subsequently. Sir James Elliott and Colonel J. J. Esson were present.
