BRITISH FAT CATTLE
SUBSIDY TO PRODUCERS
The British Ministry of Agriculture has announced important changes in the fat cattle subsidy which will be made under the subsidy provisions of the Livestock Industry Act, which became law on July 20, and came into force on August 1. The total subsidy, which has been, graduated to stimulate quality production of British fat cattle, is not more than £5,000,000 in any one year. Animals eligible for subsidy will be divided into two grades, to be known as "ordinary"- grade and "quality" grade, and higher rates of subsidy will be payable in respect of quality grade animals than for ordinary' grade animals.
