THEFT OF MEAT
Pleading: guilty to, a charge ■of .stealing meat and; vegetables valued at 3s 9d from the Porirua .Mental. Hospital, Eric Charles Walden; cook, aged 37, appeared before Mr.; J.; H. Luxford; S.M.,in.the Magistrate's .Court on. Saturday. .■■';• . ' ■■•■-.■ Sub-Inspector J. A. Dempsey said that the man. was getting, £228 per year as an employee ,at the hospital. He was a married man with four children, and had been seen going from, .the hospital .grounds carrying parcels.
