VISIT TO OTAKI

NGATI PONEKE CHOIR The Ngati Poneke Choir of Wellington, gave a great deal of pleasure yesterday when the members went up to Otak) to take part in a special service hold at the Maori Church, at the request. oi£ the Rev. Mr. Temuera, the Maori Vicar. I They took part in the service, and later were entertained at'dinner at the Marae, a very pleasant function. In the , afternoon they went to the sanatorium for a special service, and after this the inmates asked them to give some concert items, which was done with great pleasure. The medical officer expressed the thanks of .the invalids, Mr. Tahiwi replied on behalf of the choir They returned to trie marae for afternon tea. and then returned to Wellington. Lady Pomare accompanied the party; which included Mr. Kingi Tahiwi. Mrs. and Miss Heketa, Mr. Jones (a master at the Technical College), Mrs . Andrews.
